Iwan Rheon Cast As Yet Another Villain In Marvel’s Inhumans

If you remember back to the last season of Game of Thrones (SPOILERS EVERYONE YOU ARE BEING WARNED NOW), we saw the much-awaited demise of arguably Game of Thrones‘ most hated villain Ramsay Bolton. Now unlike his character, Welsh actor Iwan Rheon seems to be a pretty down-to-earth and all-round nice guy. He just seems to have a knack for playing villainous characters who like to hurt people. And you would think that after playing Ramsay Bolton for four seasons you would want to try something new, right? This is where you are wrong.

It has been announced today (February 21st) that Iwan Rheon is set to play the main big baddie for Marvel’s new upcoming TV show Inhumans on ABC. The character is known as Maximus the Mad – clearly from the name you can tell why this is up Rheon’s alley. The character is the incredibly intelligent brother of Inhumans King Black Bolt, who is extremely loyal to his beliefs which include being completely devoted to his people – and killing his brother the King and ruling the Inhumans himself. Now does this sound familiar to you?

Marvel quietly announced their intentions of making the show back in November 2016 which effectively cleared up the confusion about whether an Inhumans film as part of the MCU would happen or not. The show Inhumans however will not have to go through the hassle of explaining to the viewers the origins of the Inhumans or what they can do – this has all been explained before as Marvel’s main show on ABC Agents of Shield did that job for them all the way back in their second season. However fear not, this show will be completely separate to the events in Agents of Shield and will not be a spin-off of the show.

Inhumans on ABC is set to debut on US TV screens this autumn.
